Venture comes with investment from football player Hulk
Praia de Cabo Branco in João Pessoa was the location chosen for the construction of the B A’RA Hotel, which opened 6th of October 2022. The white sand and the blue sea make up a perfect picture with the 5-story building that stands out for its modern design, landscaping and use of natural light.
The project is the result of the union between the construction company Massai, the soccer player and entrepreneur Hulk, Florense Paraíba (national reference in custom furniture) and, also, Hofmann Station, a real estate development office. “Nothing makes more sense than investing in Paraíba, my own state, and offering the best in hospitality and, of course, generating even more qualified jobs and income for the city”, comments Hulk. In total, the new launch will have 215 direct and 40 indirect employees.
The property has 123 units, 4 suites of two different sizes and 119 apartments from 22 to 36m2. The architectural project is designed by Plan-B Arquitectos, responsible for the Botanical Garden of Medellín and brings an open and inviting hotel concept, with a lot of greenery and natural lighting, in addition to angled windows positioned for the best possible view of the sea. The landscaping is in charge of Patrícia Lago, who believes that all the parts that make up the architectural work must interact in harmony, with full integration between architecture and landscape . The interiors are the responsibility of Sandra Moura , who designed environments that reinforce the wealth of Paraíba and the state’s natural landscapes, creating spaces that balance rusticity, elegance and identity.

For those who visit inside, you will find comfortable environments, designed for the best user experience and will be surprised by the service. Our goal is to delight our customers and guests with highly trained and motivated professionals”, says Gefferson Alves, the hotel’s general manager.
The beach view can be enjoyed from the pool. located on the penthouse, which promises to be the new destination for João Pessoa. As leisure options there is also a SPA, a gym and a dedicated space for children.
B A’RA will feature two sophisticated restaurants — a trattoria with regional influences and the gastrobar on the rooftop, with the best of contemporary cuisine. The renowned bar consultant Alex Mesquita was invited to form the bar’s staff and prepare the cocktail list. Considered one of the most influential mixologists of Brazilian and Latin American cocktails in recent years, Alex will be responsible not only for sharing techniques for making cocktails, but also for providing excellent service.
“In the case of a hotel of the size of BA’RA, the level of challenge is even greater because a great expectation is followed by a huge responsibility to deliver the best service”, comments Alex Mesquita.
And when it comes to gastronomy, the kitchen will be under the command of the São Paulo chef Carol Panarotte, who has lived in the capital of Paraíba for more than 10 years. Carol has taken courses in the area, such as Science and Cooking at Harvard (USA), has worked with great chefs such as Salvatore Loi, elected the best Italian chef in Latin America, and Érick Jacquin, in addition to her stints at the renowned A Casa do Porco and Tuju restaurant. “My expectations are high and taking care of the public with excellence will always be my goal. I love Paraíba, and being able to contribute to the growing haute cuisine is very challenging and pleasurable” , says the chef.
